IN-PERSON GROUP COURSE

 ​I'm so pleased to finally be offering in-person courses again! 

What you will learn: 

  • The Mindful Birth Group® syllabus, incorporating effective Hypnobirthing techniques with Mindfulness tools- read more about hypnobirthing and mindful birth here.

  • Understand the mind body connection, and how the mind can physically impact the body and birth

  • What happens in the body, and the transformation it goes through to birth your baby

  • What different kinds of birth look like - whether it be a spontaneous labour at home or a birth centre, induced labour at hospital, or an unplanned abdominal (caesarean) birth

  • Three simple but effective breathing techniques to help you to relax during pregnancy and birth (and beyond!)

  • Visualisation techniques to help you to relax in pregnancy and every birthing scenario

  • Learn about the pelvis, baby positions, and optimal positions for labour and birth

  • Exercises and movement you can do during pregnancy and labour to support birth, as well as prevent tearing

  • Controlling the controllables - understand what is in your control and what should be allowed to progress by itself. This may include your birthing body or your medical care providers who are medically trained to support your birth

  • A very gentle and highly effective massage technique which will stimulate the production of the body’s natural pain relieving hormones

  • How to write your birth preferences & share them with your caregiver

  • Your birth partners incredibly important role and how they can support you throughout pregnancy, labour, and birth​

  • Postnatal recovery, how to prepare for parenthood, and the fourth trimester when your baby is here!

  • The course is mainly spoken teaching, alongside birth videos, practical exercises, discussion and of course breaks every hour. And no awkward ice breaker or team challenges!

Investment: £285.00 

The price above is per couple (mum/birthing person and one birth partner, who are encouraged to attend!). Should you have an additional birth partner who you would like to attend the course please contact me so that we can discuss this further.

 A bit more about the day/course:

  • A good time to do the course is between 24 and 30 weeks, but you are welcome to join wherever you are in your pregnancy.

  • There is free off-road parking on site for up to 6 cars on a first-come first-served basis, or free on-street parking right outside the church.  Morden Underground station is a 12-15 minute walk.

  • Water, hot drinks, and light refreshments will be provided.

  • The course is a maximum of 6 couples due to social-distancing and current guidelines

  • A payment plan can be discussed and made available should this help.

  • An appropriate Covid-19 risk assessment will be undertaken, and all participants will be asked to agree and sign the course Covid-19 Policy in advance of attending.

  • If Covid-19 restrictions change and we are unable to go ahead you can either attend the next Tuesday evening group course on Zoom, defer to the following month in-person group course, have a full refund, or switch to a private in-person/zoom course (and pay any difference).
